A part of the Friends Groups’ plans that focus on planting for Biodiversity, Elm4London provided six Ulmus ‘Wingham’, a proven host for the White letter Hairstreak and other fauna. The group are in the process of planting native hedges around the perimeter of the gardens and these trees will add to the forage potential.
We were delighted to be present at today’s elm tree planting as part of the Meath Gardens ongoing works organised by Tunde Morakinyo and Friends of Meath Gardens. This elm tree went into the grass island outside Ellen Wilkson House, Smart Street, Bethnal Green.
