Ulmus ‘Ademuz’. A Spanish selection proving to have a very high tolerance to Dutch Elm Disease. Good, strong upright growth. Vigorous, and recently proven to be a host for the White-letter Hairstreak. Good autumn colour.

* A selection of Ulmus minor var.minor (Field Elm) found in Spain which shows considerable resistance to Dutch Elm Disease.  This tree is being supported by many experts as a way-forward for new elm plantings. It will have great ornamental and wildlife value in future treescapes.

Ulmus ‘Columella’ A Dutch hybrid making a tall fastigiate tree. Upright growth that broadens in later years. Wind resistant and very useful in smaller spaces, or as a statement tree.

Ulmus ‘Frontier’ An American hybrid resulting from crossing a European elm with a Chinese elm. Good disease resistance from this ultimately pyramidal shaped tree, with an anticipated height of 15m. Drought resistant once established.

.Ulmus ‘Lutece’ or ‘Nanguen hybrid sec’.  A Dutch hybrid introduced to the UK in 2001 as part of a set of experiments to find disease resistant trees suitable for this country. It has proven to grow well here, producing a tall, round headed tree to 10m after 20 years. Good Autumn colour.

Ulmus ‘Wingham’. A relatively new (2019) hybrid elm with very high proven resistance to Dutch Elm Disease. Foliage resembles the Huntingdon Elm, with a rounded, dome-shaped head and irregular branching which provides character. Strong yellow Autumn colour.

Ulmus ‘Vada’. A Dutch hybrid patented in 2006 with very upright growing branches, so suitable for narrow spaces or as a street tree. Grows to 14m in 20 years.

Ulmus ‘Clusius’ A Dutch clone, vigorous and fast growing with a broadly oval crown. Any soil type and good disease resistance. 

Ulmus ‘Dodoens’ A Dutch hybrid proving to be vigorous, fast growing with upright branches. Good disease resistance. Specimens planted in the UK have reached 20m tall in 30 years.
